RCA Certification via E-Learning
Learners receive 14-hours of instruction. This blended e-learning solution uses an exciting combination of facilitated learning, and live interaction with our Just Culture Company Advisor team to enable learners to work in a collegial environment to become certified in RCA.
Course objectives:
As a result of active participation in the RCA course, participants will be able to:
- List key attributes, benefits and limitations of Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Distinguish between direct cause, probabilistic cause and conditional information within the process of developing cause-and-effect representations
- Identify and sequence the 5 elements of a threshold (event) investigation
- Utilize the 10-step investigation process to enhance the quality of RCA output
- Identify factors that shape human performance
- Identify factors that influence system design
- Competently assess the spectrum of the Just Culture Company 5-behaviors model within an investigatory framework
- Describe the appropriate organizational response(s) for each intention/behavior
- Develop effective causal narrative utilizing the 5 rules of causation
- Distinguish between effective and ineffective investigation interview techniques
- Describe how individual performance and system design contribute to outcomes and the managers’ role in improving each
- Using case scenarios, apply knowledge of human cognition, the 5-behavioral spectrum of human intention/behaviors, and the findings from a threshold investigation to determine the appropriate managerial/organizational response to mitigate risk
